On July 10, Zhifu Island, the main operation ship of Jinzhou 20-2sw and Jinzhou 21-1whpa platform demolition and related submarine pipeline and submarine cable abandonment construction projects, was anchored in place and started construction. The offshore construction of China's first packaged oil field demolition project was officially launched.
Jinzhou 20-2sw and Jinzhou 21-1whpa platforms were built in the early 1990s and 2007 respectively, and both abandoned wells and stopped service this year. According to the management measures for waste disposal of offshore oil and gas production facilities, the two abandoned platforms shall be demolished together with the blocks, jackets, submarine pipelines and cables, flare arms, trestles and other structural accessories.
For this demolition, the platform inspection and demolition Department of COOEC maintenance company has carried out all-round preparations since last year. The whole offshore construction is expected to be completed by the end of September this year. (correspondent song Haitao, Ma Qun)
