Affected by the strong cold air, the northeast monsoon in the eastern sea area of the South China Sea is booming, and the on-site surge is basically more than 3.5m. During the on-site standby, the diving team closely observes the sea conditions with the owner's representative, repeatedly deduces the process and evaluates the risk in detail. On the one hand, there were no launching conditions under bad sea conditions, and on the other hand, CNOOC executives required the time point for the positioning of oil tankers and the resumption of oil field production. The on-site operators withstood the pressure and acted actively. Finally, they seized the only two operational windows and successfully completed the single point pontoon cable connection and other emergency operations on December 24.

However, in the next two or three days, the tanker connection operation under extreme sea conditions is also a race against the clock, repeated setbacks and repeated battles. At 17:41 on December 26, the company received the instruction of "dispatching an experienced mooring captain to go to sea on the morning of the 27th to participate in and assist in the on-site connection operation, and strive to complete the operation on the same day before the sea condition worsens further". At 15:53 on December 27, the good news "the anchor chain has entered the cabin and victory is in sight" came from the scene. At 16:20, the mooring captain Sun Gang informed "the oil tanker has been successfully in place and stopped for test" through high frequency.
